about

The ultimate get-toasted and laugh-yer-ass-off Walls of Genius album. An unrecognized unheralded monumental classique that will live on until the very end of time. Really. Features a special bonus track, too. Originally a 60-minute cassette tape. Features Evan Cantor (the Head Moron), Little Fyodor (Asst Head Moron) and Ed Fowler (Asst Head Moron) along with partygoers at the Halls of Genius, thanked in the album credits.

credits

released October 1, 1984

Special Thanks to Martha Roskowski, Stacy Benedict, Scott Childress ("Yeah, right") and Don Roberts. All the songs on this album were recorded live at the Halls of Genius on September 8, 1984 except "Fiddler", "Scumbag" and "If You Could Read My Mind". The bonus track, "Ballad of A Patriot" originally appeared on the compilation cassette "A Peace Of Mind" produced by Vulture (a member of the then-extant punk rock band Dead Silence). Thanks Vulture! The reason that "Ballad" never appeared on a WoG title was that Red Ed objected to the vulgar kiss-off of President Reagan. If you're familiar with Walls of Genius and the Head Moron's take on things, you'll know that kissing off Reagan never bothered me (Evan). It still gives me the heebie-jeebies when I drive past Colorado Springs on I-25 and see the sign "Ronald Reagan Highway"...

Walls Of Genius

Fried psychedelia, relentless experimentation, hunter-gatherer improv, space rock doom, heavy rock monumentalism and daffy cover tunes. Walls of Genius rips holes in the fabric of space and time, kicks you in the ass and leaves you smiling. 80s stalwarts of the cassette culture, they're back in the 21st century. The most unique band that ever was. Really! ... more
