In a strange twist of coincidence, one of my junior high school buddies, John (Talley) Jones became the leader of a highly-regarded 80s LA punk band, the Urinals, later to be called 100 Flowers in a nod to Mao-Tse Tung. I was very impressed with their music (and remain so) and decided to cover one of their songs for the pre-WoG Genius. So I got permission from Mr. Jones (and lyrics) and here you have it: punk-rock with no drums... This track was previously released on the 1983 cassette "Guilt Vs. Time Money Complex", "courtesy of John Talley-Jones and 100 Flowers" and was credited to an alter-ego whose name I only used this once, "Johnny Pureheart". It didn't seem to me to be a "Joe Colorado" song. I always really liked the distorted guitar, once again my 1961 Gibson SG run through a Big Muff fuzz-box. Like some of the other tracks in this collection, we weren't yet crediting "solo material" to Walls Of Genius, as that band name did not yet exist.
